THINGS YOU HAVE HEARD ON THE MORNING MIX

OUR OBSESSION WITH BACON HAS HIT A NEW HIGH
The “Bacon Weave Taco” is a taco shell made entirely out of bacon – which probably makes Taco Bell and their Doritos Locos Tacos very jealous. The folks that run DudeFoods.com have posted instructions on how to make the pork-laden shell, which was inspired by their recent "Bacon Weave Quesadilla." It only takes about 30 minutes to make, which seems like a small price to pay for such a great combination of foods.

ARE LEGOS SEXIST?
One dad isn’t too happy with the LEGO Company right now, and it’s all because of what he felt was a sexist sticker. Apparently LEGOs had a set of construction worker-themed stickers, and one of them featured a little construction worker waving, with the words, “Hey Babe!” under him.  And while the company intended for this to be “humorous,” the dad wrote letters of complaint until the company made it clear that the stickers had been discontinued.

ANGLER CATCHES SHARK WITH TWO HEADS
An angler off the Florida coast landed a bull shark carrying a fetus with two heads. The phenomenon happens when an egg begins to split into twins but doesn't finish the process. Experts believe this is only the sixth such shark fetus to have two heads, and the first of a bull shark. The shark likely wouldn't have lived long in the wild. A marine biologist notes, "When you're a predator that needs to move fast to catch other fast-moving fish…that'd be nearly impossible with this mutation."

SKYDIVER SURVIVED 8000 FOOT FREE FALL
Veteran skydiver Craig Stapleton was attempting a mid-air stunt after jumping from about 8,000 feet, but then both of his parachutes failed. He spun in the air for three minutes before hitting the ground at about 30-miles-an-hour and somehow he survived with minor injuries. His main chute didn’t open all the way, and when he tried his auxiliary chute, it went right into his main chute and stuck there. Stapleton prepared for the hard landing by getting into a crouch so he could roll upon impact, and landed in a row of grapes in recently plowed soil that he said was "very soft." CLEVELAND MAN FINDS JESUS FACE IN BIRD DROPPINGS
Jim Lawry was in the driveway of his parents’ home in Brooklyn, when he first noticed the bird poop on his windshield. Amazed, he called out his family for a second opinion, and they, too, were left in awe of the image. Jim thinks it’s some sort of sign from above.

LAWS HAVE CHANGED REGARDING THE RESALE OF DROP-SIDE CRIBS
In December 2010, the Consumer Product Safety Commission mandated new safety standards be implemented for all cribs sold or manufactured in the United States by June 28, 2011. While stores already are carrying the new products, childcare services, such as daycare centers and in-home providers, have until Dec. 28 to replace all noncompliant cribs with the new, safer models. The new standards require strengthening slats, improving mattress support, eliminating drop sides, making hardware stronger and conducting more rigorous testing. The Child Care Resource Center suggests that if you already own a crib to verify with the manufacturer that it meets the new safety standards and check to make sure it has not been recalled by going to www.cspc.gov. The agency also warns against buying previously used cribs, or using hand-me-down cribs.
